Cancel This! Explores What We Can Learn About Spiritual Maturity From the Bad Guys

My book, Cancel This! What Today’s Church Can Learn From the Bad Guys of the Bible, is all about our walk with the Lord and spiritual growth as we live out the truths of the Gospel.

I have endeavored to make this book practical as well as vitally relevant to the day in which we live.

Each chapter contains a lengthy application section with insights on how to avoid the pitfalls of the bad guys that led to their disastrous decisions. Each chapter also contains a “Walking with God” section that sums up what each character teaches us about applying the Gospel to our everyday life.

Here are a couple examples of the application sections in the book.

From Chapter 1: Saul - The King Who Didn’t Wait

The headings under A Strategy for Waiting:

  1. Focus on Christ, Not the Mess

  2. Don’t Buy Into the World’s Reasoning

  3. Hold on to God’s Promises

  4. Trust God’s Person, Not “Religious: Behavior

From Chapter 3: Joab- The Commander Who Murdered Those in his Way

The headings under Signs of Superficial Faith

  1. It Settles for Pious-Sounding Words That Don’t Reflect a Changed Heart

  2. It Attacks Those in Its Way

The chapter on Cain contains a clear presentation of the Gospel emphasizing God’s amazing grace for both believers and those not yet in Christ.

It’s not what you might think. There’s much we can learn from these bad guys that can help us meet the challenges of the perilous times in which we live. These lessons continue to help me in my spiritual journey and it’s my prayer they will do the same for you.

If you have not yet purchased the book, I encourage you to do so. If you have, please consider putting a favorable review on Amazon. Thanks!!
